Become a better photographer through local, national, and international print competitions.

In addition to what I create for families and individuals that come to me, I also compete.  I've learned that it's the best way to improve my photography skills, as well as just have some fun pushing myself to be more creative.  Every year that I've entered my work into these competitions, I've scored a little better and better until the Professional Photographers Association, 2014 International Print Competition, where I actually had an image (shown below) be selected into their highly desired "Loan Collection".  Throughout the year, as I'm preparing entries, I work with fellow photographers, discussing style, technique, presentation, and other elements which in turn, help me create better portraits in every situation.

State Winners/Merits

"By Any Other Name" received state merit in the 2014 Professional Photographers of Washington Print Competition and was sent to the Western Districts Regional Print Competition where it missed the bar to continue by just a single point.  Not to be deterred, I plan to continue entering at least one non-portrait into the competitions to expand my creative boundaries.
